  • Open-ended questions are aligned for you; ask others to pose only open-ended questions (ex. I wonder how you feel about ...?)

AUTHORITY SUMMARIES

Emotional Authority
You have emotional “waves” - your emotions rise and fall, ebb and flow. They’re here to guide you to the most aligned timing for your decisions. When you wait until you are emotionally neutral - clear - to make a decision, you’re able to most clearly tune into the most aligned decision for you. It’s important not to try to change your emotions, but to observe them and let them pass. Let them guide you to rest (when you’re feeling low), to work/play (when you’re feeling high), and make decisions when you’re feeling neutral (when you’re feeling a sense of equanimity). If you are a Generator or Manifesting Generator, wait until you are emotionally neutral, then tune into your Sacral center & make a decision based on whether something excites you or not (you can read the Sacral Authority summary for how to do this). If you are a Projector or Manifestor, wait until you are emotionally neutral, then tune into what just feels/sounds inexplicably correct for you.
Sacral Authority
Your Sacral center is always responding to things (this usually translates as a gut feeling, either YES or NO). Your job is to feel into it and let it guide your decisions based on whether you are excited, interested, drawn to or lit up by the prospect at-hand or not. If you feel excited about something or someone, go for it. If you don’t feel interested, drawn into or lit up or excited about something, don’t go for it. This is so simple to do in theory, but so challenging to TRUST in practice because it’s so easy to doubt, over-think or talk yourself out of. But it really does get to be that easy for you. You can have others ask (or ask yourself) yes/no questions to get clear on a decision (your Sacral doesn’t respond clearly to open-ended questions)
Splenic Authority
You have a deep, intuitive sense of what is right - or not - for you. It’s always guiding you, but can be a subtle, quiet voice – or it can be a very strong feeling about something (like a warning to “get out” or “get away”). It’s always trying to guide you away from what isn’t healthy/safe for you and toward what is. Your Splenic intuition speaks to you in the moment. Trust your inner-knowing. When you get a good sense from something (or a strange/bad sense), or you inexplicably know that something is right (or wrong) for you, or something sounds or smells good (or icky) pay attention to that and honor it. Keeping yourself mindful and present is not only important, it’s crucially necessary; otherwise you’ll miss what’s correct and aligned and live a life of anger and bitterness.
Heart/Ego Authority
You’re meant to be making decisions purely based off what YOU want. When you follow what your heart desires (or what motivates you), you’ll make the best decisions for yourself and - as a byproduct - for others around you. If your heart isn’t in something, it isn’t for you. If it’s not what you want or value, it’s not for you. If you’re motivated by it or truly desire it, then act on it. Many people call this being “selfish”, but for you it isn’t selfish at all. In fact, it’s aligned for you to make decisions this way.
Self-Projected AuthorityYou have a deep inner-knowing of who you are and what you want and what the right decision in any situation is. But, in order to uncover that deep inner-knowing, you often need to process the situation at hand. When making a decision, sound it out and talk it through if possible. Consult with someone else - or many someones - as a sounding board. You don’t need their input or advice, just someone to hear you and so you can hear them. As an alternative, you can speak outloud to yourself, and even journal, though this isn’t as effective as having another human sounding board. At any rate, get the process out of your head and keep sounding it out until you hit your “aha!” moment - that right frequency - when you finally hear The Truth, either from others or from yourself. That’s when you know you’ve hit on the right decision.
(Environ)Mental AuthorityYou will always have an Open G/Identity center, so it's imperative for you to be in the right environment (hence the name Environmental). And if they're in the incorrect environment, life can feel broken or mixed up. It’s important to have people you trust and can sound out to about decisions not only to hear your own thoughts but also to take in the thoughts - the mental ramblings - of others. What happens is that they share their thoughts and opinions around you accepting or rejecting an invitation, and you get to hear your own truth. You’re not asking them what you should do or for their advice — you’re getting their perspective so that you can feel into the frequency, the meaning, and the depth of their words, and divine your own answer which may very well be the exact opposite of what they say. This is a unique authority, because rather than having an internal prompt, you go through an external process to discover your truth. You must not be rushed into making decisions. It is slow, deliberate, meticulous, and measured. It weighs and balances, thoroughly researches, checks, and double-checks before reaching a decision.
Lunar AuthorityAs a Reflector, your decisions are linked to a lunar cycle. As the moon transits through each of the 64 gates over this expanse of time, you take on the energies of each of those gates. Along the way, you’re also researching and consulting other people to get their perspectives and viewpoints and insights – and reflecting back what you hear to ensure you have a clear and comprehensive depth of understanding. That means that by the time you reach the end of the lunar cycle, you’ve experienced so many different perspectives and energies around any situation or decision that you’re infinitely wise and energetically intelligent. And in going through that journey, you’ll know what the right decision is. Wait up to 28 days (until you feel you have reached your point of Truth) to make any significant decision. And for smaller decisions, go with whatever feels best to you in whatever energy you’re in at the moment.

PROFILE SUMMARIES

1-3 PROFILE

  • Highly introspective
  • Designed to research, investigate, embody and experiment to test the knowledge and information, and then share your findings
  • 1/3s will poke and poke until they find an inconsistency. Until they catch you in a lie.
  • If you have a 1/3 kid, don’t give them the bullshit Santa story or anything of that nature. It will only cause trust issues later in life
  • 1/3 Profiles are here to get involved in everything and are embroiled in their own relationship to life. People will come and go in their lives and have interactions, but if they don’t have much trust and openness to experimenting, the 1/3 may not have obvious communication skills that extend beyond fulfilling their own apparent needs. With an inbuilt insecurity that demands the 1st line get to the foundational level of anything, the 1/3 profile can appear uninvolved when considering the concerns of others, and the 3rd line unconscious with its hit-or-miss, trial-and-error, commit-and/or-exit patterning, may offer solutions that do not have immediate practical values to others. However, by considering their own Type and Authority, they can be clever at pointing out and even forming foundations for others to build on.
  • When a 1/3 makes a solid foundation for themselves, they go through an ongoing series of personal reinventions and upgrades as they strive towards a constantly improving life experience. Anyone who partners with a 1/3 on this journey of reinvention will be amazed at the energy that is devoted to obtaining a deeper recognition of the meaning of their life.
  • 1/3’s can spend a lifetime of trying everything, building foundations (1), that are a little shaky (3), and throwing over those foundations when they appear unsatisfactory for any reason. Jobs, relationships, living situations, food preferences, exercise routines, cars, etc., can all come and go regularly in their constant quest for a permanent structure in life. All 1/3 profiles can be encouraged in their “changing pursuits,” but they must appreciate that there is no need to hop from one tried/apparently-failed/no-longer-interesting experience to another throughout their life. They can start making a few natural concessions to apparently “shaky” foundations around age 29 (Saturn return), age 40 (Mid-life) and especially after age 50 (Chiron return). As the 1/3 matures in their lifetime, they start to find an ability to relax more and more into accepting their inner guidance towards people and endeavors that give them the foundations and alliances they so earnestly seek to have.
  • Concerned with the happenings and impacts of life from a Personal (as opposed to a Transpersonal) perspective. They may help other people in their lives but do so from a personal standpoint. They have to be true to themselves whatever the consequences or risk the pitfalls of a misaligned, unfulfilling life.

1-4 PROFILE

  • 1/4 Profiles are rarer Profiles, with less harmonic interactions available through contacts with others (since it only resonates or harmonizes with other 1st or 4th lines). It still has the 1st line’s insecurity and quest for personally valid foundations but also has the externalizing harmonic, the 4th line of extending itself into the world. When a good foundation is found, a 1/4 profile can be adept at promoting it, even if this turns out to be for the benefit of others. In a 1/4 profile, 4th lines typically seek opportunities to expand on a 1st line appreciation and thus a 1/4 profile can unconsciously be promoting a very fixed and foundationally personal agenda. There is nothing incorrect in this expression but 1/4’s can find themselves isolated from the streams of activity and thought going on around them if they are not watchful.
  • The 4th line has an inbuilt fatigue syndrome as well as a degree of fragility, which, when pushed too far, can “give up,” and even “shatter.” All 1/4 profiles need to be encouraged in their communication skills and their ability to prevent themselves from unnecessarily over committing to others, unless it is in accordance with their own nature.
  • When the 4th line undergoes a breakdown because there exists a sense of feeling wounded and rejected in their heart, there is a tendency to renounce the world, metaphorically or actually, crossing their arms over their chest and standing behind a forced smile that is compounded by their 1st line insecurity. Anyone with a 4th line in their profile might not appreciate this easily, but they benefit greatly from people in their lives who give good hugs that force them to open their arms wide thus allowing them to feel comfortable in their hearts. When at ease, a 1/4 profile expands great deeds and compassion into the world.

2-4 PROFILE

  • 2/4 Profiles are a bit of a mystery even to themselves because they have a projection field of expectations around them … to which they cannot always relate. The 2nd line has a need for space, peace and quiet and an inherent wish to be left alone to their own devices, thank you.
  • However, the 4th line is one that on an unconscious level is seeking to externalize and be involved in other people’s processes. The 4th line is the most influential of all the lines, so in the 2/4 profile, this influencing can be consciously driving the 2nd line from their natural tendency to remain hidden.
  • In one moment a 2nd line can exhibit great shyness but also in another, they can become bold and outspoken, which is underscored by the 4th lines tendency to seek out opportunities for expansion. Since 2nd lines have an inclination to always live their life in their own “natural” way, when that becomes externalized through the 4th line influence, some amazing things can take place. Not only do they surprise themselves, they easily affect the lives of other people as well. Oblivious of the effect they may have on others, 2nd lines have a great inclination to stumble into new, innocent and unaffected ways of living life.
  • 2nd lines can spend their life considering their own way to be perfect, while being completely unaware of how the rest of the world is perceiving things. One of the greatest gifts a 2/4 can give themselves is learning how to gain knowledge and how to communicate it (i.e. With a thorough and comprehensive education of the world’s ways).
  • 2/4’s make great parents, teachers and instructors when they have their own education and communicative abilities honed. They benefit from exposure to extensive experiences in life.
  • 2/4s aka "The Mesmerizing Star" (think Oprah), like doing things alone and being by themselves, They’re here to play, so if this is your profile, remember: don't take life too seriously!

2-5 PROFILE

  • 2/5 Profiles are rarer Profiles with less harmonic interactions available through contacts with other people. The 2/5 lives in a complete Projection field — they have a lot of expectations placed upon them from others naturally due to their energetic profile — that at times can become removed from what others take for reality. 2nd lines intrinsically wish to be left alone, but 5th lines are expected (projected upon) to deliver something of value to others.
  • If the 2/5 does not have grounding in who they are and what they are living out through their Type and Authority, they will constantly find themselves being caught up in situations where they are almost completely unrecognized by those with whom they interact, and subsequently they easily become dissatisfied. This can lead them on a personal quest for a higher meaning to life.
  • Like 2/4’s, the 2/5 profile benefits from extensive education, with particular emphasis on knowing their own nature and being watchful for the projected expectations that others might have of them. 2/5‘s can become good teachers of others, especially when they appreciate that others have difficulty seeing who they are, tending to see only images they project instead. Clear communication, spoken or written can help dispel obviously incorrect projections, but being true to their Type and Authority is going to serve them best.

3-5 PROFILE

  • The 3/5 Profile brings with it a lifetime of hard knocks. I always tell someone with the 3/5, that if they get to age 30 and still know how to laugh at life, and chuckle at their own foibles, they have attained a major achievement. The 3rd line is one that has the sense of an outer reality, but does not necessarily have the skills to deal with it. The 5th line is projected on to know how to deal with the outer reality, without necessarily having the background knowledge to manage that. While the 5th line needs to be grounded in a thorough education, the 3rd line only learns from experiences. This is one of the dilemmas of the 3/5 profile.
  • 3/5’s go through life crashing into all manner of things: the “system,” relationships, jobs, children, all the time operating in the 3rd line “try it and see,” “here today, gone tomorrow” mode, and quietly absorbing the first hand skills (along with the bruises) of how to teach others (5th line). At certain times in their lives, they reach levels of amazing wisdom that stem from their accomplishments of having survived untold difficult real-life situations. From this wisdom can come a profound compassion and ability to guide others in their lives.

3-6 PROFILE

  • 3/6 Profiles are rarer Profiles, with less harmonic interactions available through contacts with other people (3rd and 6th Lines only resonate or harmonize with each other and not with 1st, 2nd, 4th or 5th lines).
  • A little bit of this and a little bit of that; Difficulty making a commitment to things, particularly in relation to work/career. Natural risk-takers.
  • A 3/6 Profile has a combination of the “trial and error” sequence (3rd Line), with (for at least the first 30 years) a push to externalize, along with a certain aloofness and impersonal distancing (6th line) from much of life’s interactions.
  • Younger people with 3rd and 6th lines in their profiles can appear rash as they dive through every conceivable experience that life can offer. At their Saturn return (30 years old), or even the first turn of the Nodes (17 ½ years old) reality sets in, and either a more conservative, or a more self-destructive lifestyle can follow.
  • As with the 3/5 Profile, the 3/6 has the potential to accrue great wisdom and compassion during their lifetime. What they must comprehend is that there are inherent challenges in their lives that do not indicate automatic failure, they are just challenges. The soul has already accepted the challenges before the lifetime starts. It is a great reason to celebrate when the challenges are met, fully experienced and the dance of life goes on!

4-1 PROFILE

  • 4/1 is the Fixed Fate, (or sometimes called the Juxtaposition) Profile. The 4/1 profile is a rarity. Perhaps 30,000 people worldwide are born with a 4/1 Profile in each hexagram each year. “Fixed” describes the Externalizing (4) of Inner Foundational unconscious concerns (1). When you meet someone with a 4/1 Profile, it is a rare privilege, because you are being introduced to someone who is energetically representing one of the 64 unique attributes of being a human.
  • A 4/1 externalizes one of 64 particular attributes, as the purest energetic expression of a hexagram. Because their journey is constrained to maintain rigid energetic boundaries, a 4/1 Profile person can be seen to have little, if any, flexibility. They can expound genius in their particular form of expression, but can suffer enormously when not appreciated by a changing and changeable world.
  • When you see someone has this Profile, it is most important that you explain to them the importance of their presence in life with a Fixed Fate, and how vital it is that they “stay with their program” and not yield to intense outside pressures to be different than they are. With an unyielding nature, a 4/1 may not be the easiest person to reach agreements with consistently.

4-6 PROFILE

  • Have the potential to live a life of “touch and go.” They only really want to get involved in things when it is absolutely to their advantage to do so; if they are coerced, they have a tendency to complain. The 4th line, with its intrinsic potential for fatigue and collapse when seriously challenged, is underscored by the 6th line aloofness and unwillingness to commit in the first place. Sitting in the fence is an apt description for a 4/6 Profile.
  • This particular Profile is well suited to someone in a “monarchical” situation, where they can oversee “how we are all getting along” from a safe distance, without necessarily having to commit themselves. They make great allies, “backers” and consultants, preferring, if possible, to leave the “dirty work” of life to others. The 4th line never really wants to get too intimate with others, at least in the long term and the 6th line is happy to remain aloof until it finds good cause to implement its authority. 4/6’s are great overseers of life and can carry wisdom and abilities beyond their age, becoming especially wise in their latter years. The constant suggestion for a 4/6 is to keep their arms stretched wide to embrace their world or risk the tendency to shut down, with arms firmly folded across their chest in defense against an unkind world.
  • Part of the reason you're here is to learn how to balance wisdom and desire. The 4th line speaks to your need to have a tribe (a family, a community) and to be in close relationship with others. You value the quality of relationships over quantity. You live for others though you need time for yourself because you can become people-weary. The 6th line in your profile means you will live your life in three distinct stages. Important to lighten up, learn to chill out and laugh!
  • Stage 1 is from birth to around the Saturn Return, or age 30 during which time, there are strong vibes of discovery-based learning (lots of trial-and-error) and bonds made and broken.
  • Stage 2 is roughly ages 30-50, and during this time, you'll find an opportunity to retreat, heal and reflect in order to gain perspective around everything that happened during Stage 1.
  • Stage 3 is roughly age 50 on, and this is the time when you transform all your experience into wisdom via your reflection and you're now ready to engage with others and share all the lessons learned.
  • Classic trait of the 4/6 is to sit on the fence, procrastinate, not make a decision - mostly due to a fear of rejection coming from the 4th line.
  • Tendency to "sit on the fence" and protect themselves - play small - because of the 4th line which shows up as very heartfelt and fragile, highly sensitive to rejection

5-1 PROFILE

  • A 5/1 profile shows that you're designed to be transpersonal. You have good, if not charismatic, communication skills. You can observe the world as a whole and really see who you are connecting with and what their trip is as well as living your own life.
  • They’re naturally suited to teach, whether they are prepared to do so competently or not. The 5th line carries a Projection Field in which other people see something of their own choosing. This projection can include: teacher, parent figure, loving figure, enemy figure, expert figure, idiot figure, scoundrel figure, etc. This projection field can confuse the person with the 5/1 Profile unless they are clear from within themselves as to whom they really are and what they are really living out. What a 5/1 Profile will hopefully come to appreciate about themselves is that no one ever truly recognizes them for who they are.
  • The 1st line unconscious is seeking to internalize everything on a foundational, personal-research based, level. It is inclined to be insecure until it makes every bit of knowledge and competence “its own.” Of course, this is an unrealistic expectation. Even when they feel they have attained foundational understanding, the conscious 5th line can have a reluctance to reveal themselves into a Projection Field that does not truly recognize them. If they are forced unwillingly into action, they will often obfuscate and distract others with fanciful concepts and ideas.
  • The 5/1 Profile is most susceptible to blame for giving impractical suggestions into the world, or showing itself to be inept in any area of life. The world projects onto, and expects a 5/1 Profile to be able to deliver whatever is wanted, and when the 5/1 Profile fails to do so, for whatever reason, it is passed over and even ridiculed. The gift of the 5th line is to provide good and solid leadership and this takes place when they have built a solid foundation (1) in their life.
  • You carry personal karma with the people you are here to interact with, time and again through many lives. You have certain allies in this life whom you must meet in order to fulfill your own particular destiny. You will also meet your old enemies who could be those people who you dislike immediately, or who have a strongly negative reaction to meeting you. You may recognize both allies and enemies and find yourself helping your allies and receiving assistance from them and finishing old business with your enemies.
  • The conscious 'heretic' part of your profile tells us that you have the ability to universalize new heresies to a wide audience. In that sense you tend to go against the majority if you assess that it is more practical to do so.
  • You are aided in this by an initially, attractive projection field. Most people appreciate you when they first encounter you. You can be successful when people project upon you as they have great hopes and expectations that you can rescue or save them, or help them out of crisis.
  • The key ingredient here is practicality. As a 'heretic' if what you do or say isn't practical then you are likely to get blamed or 'burnt at the stake' by those who are disappointed that you can't fulfill their expectations. So it's only natural that you can be suspicious, even a little paranoid, when someone comes to you and you wonder what they want because they usually want something from you - it's just your profile.
  • It's vital that you protect your reputation. Because of the projection field, there will be those who think you're absolutely wonderful because, for them, you did what no one else could do. And then there will be those who say negative things about you because you couldn't deliver up to their expectations and they think you're a waste of time. Their loss of hop motivates them to tell others they're you're not good. People are always talking about you behind your back and there's nothing you can do about it. If what you deliver is practical and helpful - or even astonishing and revelatory - then you'll have more fans than detractors.
  • In this regard bear in mind that you have an insecure unconscious side to your profile that needs a strong foundation - you must feel that you know all there is to know about something before you share you knowledge. So if you've really investigated and researched something thoroughly and act from that solid base of knowledge, the greater the chances are that you'll be able to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
  • Once you're out in the world universalizing your depth, then the natural attraction of your 5th line doesn't meet the same resistance most other profiles have to bear. You are, after all, designed to be a seductive messenger who's able to project things out to a large number of people. You're here to bring out - to share - something that is different from the norm. This can either be wonderful, or it can very disturbing to those who have vested interest in the old order.
  • With a strong foundation and a focus on grounded practicality, you have every chance of success in your life.

5-2 PROFILE

  • 5/2 Profiles are rarer Profiles, with less harmonic interactions available through contacts with other people (5th and 2nd lines resonate and harmonize with each other but not with 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th lines).
  • The 5/2 lives in a pure Projection Field. As with the 5/1, they are expected to “deliver,” but unlike the 5/1, they are less inclined to research beyond their own scope of interest and apparent need. They can find themselves attempting to universalize issues that have a limited interest to others.
  • All 2nd line influences carry an inherent need for the person to educate themselves in their personal fields of interest, to broaden the scope and competence of their comprehension, and thus be able to reach effectively into the lives of others. 2nd lines can astound the world with their unique, and even genius perceptions of life, but if they are given access to expanded contacts with life through personal education and first hand experiences, they will enjoy a more rounded sense of well-being for themselves. Otherwise, they can find themselves living in a fog of other people’s projections to which they find hard to relate.

6-2 PROFILE

  • The 6/2 profile is society's sounding board. However, within themselves is a basic dilemma. The sixth line personality is fundamentally optimistic. It looks out in the world and it dreams and hopes for the best in life. And not only for itself, but through its transpersonal nature, the best in life for others. There is always the assumption within the sixth line that it is possible. At the same time the second line unconscious has come to see the frailness of humanity, the weakness and self-hatred.
  • It is the 6/2's unconscious and its memory that keeps its personal aloofness. 6/2's interact powerfully with the communities around them. They are truly transpersonal beings. Yet at the personal level within themselves, through their second line unconscious, they are not involved. They have their distance.
  • Perhaps the most difficult aspect for a 6/2 profile is the nature of bonding in their life. All human beings need another. We are part of a binary system and we are not fulfilled without the other. The sixth line personality is an idealist. More than an idealist it is an optimist that is looking for a true reality, a true value that it can trust.
  • 6/2 Profiles have a view of the world that is beyond the scope of comprehension of most other Profiles. The 6th line tendency is to live the first 30 years (until their first Saturn return) of their lives, “dangerously” often experimenting and learning by experiencing things first hand. They can be viewed as risk-takers and as making “mistakes”...living on the edge a bit. Then at around age 30 or so, they will often retire from the major “excitements” of life to become more of an observer, at least until their Chiron return (somewhere around age 48-51.
  • As children, they can quickly find out that they know a lot more about life than their parents ever will, and often, with the first Moon’s Nodal return (at age 17 ½ years), they may leave home, rarely, if ever, to return.
  • The unconscious 2nd line presence within the Profile, inclines them to live within their own, sometimes isolated, perceptions of things. Education, relationships and expansive personal experiences gives them access to other possibilities in life which they broadcast from the vantage point of the 6th line presence, having the “best view of it all”. 6/2’s are intrinsically aware that they are here to be of service to others but have to learn that they also need to honor their own space and sanctuary.
  • 6/2’s will often be seen as the ultimate authority in all issues in life, often having a high degree of innate wisdom, and can therefore feel obliged to sort out all the problems of the world. It is not necessarily their job to do so, even if it is their calling.
  • When a 6/2 becomes aware of the relevance of their Type and Authority they immediately know to whom and what to commit themselves. Without this knowledge they have a tendency to get exhausted with constant expectations and demands, real or imagined, from others to manage their lives for them. 6/2’s will eventually get more involved around their Chiron return (age 50 or thereabouts) to take charge of directing their life once again. At this time it is essential for them to know how to comfortably cope with the world from their own perspective (and to know and understand their Type and Authority), otherwise, they will easily get burned out!
  • All 6/2’s express themselves as natural authorities in life, and provided they allow themselves to commit to the needs of the moment in an aligned way and in a way that’s correct for them, they have the gift of raising any situation to a higher potential.

6-3 PROFILE

  • One of the rarer Profiles with less harmonic interactions available through contacts with other people. (All 3rd and 6th lines resonate and harmonize with each other, but not with 1st, 2nd, 4th or 5th lines).
  • It is a Profile that is inherently less likely to survive, simply because it lives hard and fast through a “double” 3rd line process for the first 17 ½ or 30 years of life (6th lines will try anything to learn through the 3rd line ‘trials and errors’ process in their early years).
  • Burning through a maximum amount of experiences can leave a person physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually depleted. At the Saturn return, if not earlier, there can be a sensation of wanting to quit!
  • If and when the 6/3 Profile arrives at their Chiron return (age 50) it is possible for them to return to the mad-cap energies of the first 30 years, and it is important for them to realize that they no longer inhabit a youthful body! When they are crystal clear about their Type and Authority, they have the keys of knowing exactly to whom and what to commit themselves, and can become the most complete and satisfied people on Earth, having “seen and done it all,” and lived to tell the tale!
  • 6/3’s have a high potential to bring about transformations in others, and when they have reached their wisdom, can become very experienced and wise guides for others.
